Google Buys Motorola Mobility

Google has finally tried to solve the ever-increasing patent problem by deciding to buy-out Motorola. The announcement came today and the search engine giant will finally enter the hardware business by spending $12.5 billion.

Google has announced Android will remain open to everyone, and Motorola will work as a separate entity and will be a license to Android same as other manufacturers.

Deal Details:

Google will acquire Motorola Mobility for $40.00 per share in cash, or a total of about $12.5 billion, a premium of 63% to the closing price of Motorola Mobility shares on Friday, August 12, 2011. The transaction was approved by the boards of directors of both companies.
