Huawei announces new Android smartphone, the Honor.

Huawei has officially announced the launch of its new Android smartphone named Honor, according to a report on AndroidOS. The new phone will run on Google’s Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system. The Huawei Honor will have a 1.4 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM and a 4.0 inch FWVGA capacitive touch screen. It will feature an 8 megapixel auto focus camera with support for HDR, along with a 2 megapixel front camera for video calling. The phone will be available in the Asia Pacific region in the Q4 of 2011. It will, however be available in a single colour, black.

It will have a G-sensor, proximity sensor, as well as a light sensor. All this will be accompanied by a 1900 mAh battery, bringing the total weight to around 140 grams. Pricing will be a key factor for Huawei, because although the phone has most of the specs one would require from a smartphone, Huawei is currently a level lower than the major front-running brands. Hence, pricing it at a cheaper rate than phones with similar specs will definitely work in their favour.
