Samsung has been making a lot of announcements, off late regarding its upcoming range of smartphones and tablets viz. Wave 3, Wave M Wave Y and the LTE-enabled Galaxy S II and Galaxy tab 8.9. But with today's launch of the YP-R2 and YP-Z3 PMP’s, the company seems to add that along with mobile phones, it is also focusing on the upgrading its media player line-up.The YP-R2 and YP-Z3 media players are being expected to come with mp3 HD support, right out of the box. The company also claims that its range of media players are capable of generating five times more sound than the standard available players.
The YP-R2 player has a 3-inch WQVGA full-touch display. It is 0.3 inches thick and weighs around 52g. On the other hand, the YP-Z3 will sport in a 1.8-inch display and would weigh 36g. Apart from this, both the music players would come packed with features like photo and text viewing, FM radio and 5.1-channel surround sound support. The YP-R2 is expected to come in black and silver and would cost approximately Rs 6,400 ($140) for a 4GB version and Rs 7,300 ($160) for an 8GB one. The YP-Z3 will come dressed in white, pink and blue and would cost Rs 3,800 ($83) for 4GB and Rs 5,000 ($110) for 8GB. Samsung intends to launch its range of media players in Russia and Korea with no confirmation on their availability for the Indian markets.
