Ice Cream Sandwich Music app gets leaked; available for download.

Each time a platform gets updated, a bunch of native apps get updated along with it. It’s easy to assume that Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich, which was rumoured to launch on October 11th, just a few days from now, will have a whole bunch of updated apps. Android Police has got its hand on the Music app, version 4.0.1, apparently from a Nexus Prime device. The app sports a whole new interface as compared to the one seen on Gingerbread.

The tabs at the top of the player are well spaced, so things appear to be less cluttered in the new build. The playback controls at the bottom area are leaner, so you have more space for the playlist and the cover art. There are a few new additions to some of the features. For example, the playback screen has a small search icon on the top, so you can quickly search for your favorite tracks. Some of the menus don’t appear as a popup, but blend into the existing layout, so it’s less intrusive. A neat new feature is the ability to ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ tracks - basically, ratings for your music. If you’re dying to try out the new app, head over to Android Police to download it.
