Tata Teleservices have announced that from Oct 20, 2011 all Tata Indicom customers will be migrated to the Tata Docomo brand. As part of the change, Tata Indicom’s CDMA, GSM, 3G and Photon platforms will now be available under the unified brand Tata Docomo. So, that means now Docomo will have CDMA as well.
Yatish Mehrotra, who is the regional head of TTL in the south has mentioned that, “Our new business approach gives TTL new strategic direction in the ‘access, content and solutions’ spaces, enabling the company to offer compelling propositions to customers in a market that has been witnessing far-reaching changes in terms of usage trends and customer preferences.” In addition to that, Tata have also launched a new Photon card, the Photon Max which will be a part of their 3G USB data cards. The Photon Max will work on the REV.B platform, which is a multi-carrier evolution of the REV.A specification. In simpler words, it’s faster and more data-optimized.
The company has also clarified that the migration of services to the unified Tata Docomo brand will happen in Delhi-NCR at a later date. This will not impact TTL’s Indicom, Photon and Walky consumers in Delhi, and they will continue to get the same service as in the past.
