First quad-core smartphone may be the HTC Edge.

We recently saw the Asus Transformer Prime setting a new benchmark when it comes to speed with the quad-core NVIDIA Kal El Tegra 3 processor. But that’s a tablet and what about these sorts of speeds on a smartphone? Well, HTC has the answer for this question in the form of their upcoming handset, the HTC Edge. According to a report by Pocketnow, the upcoming handset could be the first smartphone with a quad-core processor.


Trusted sources have informed the website that this premium handset will incorporate the latest mobile technologies. Here is a quick look at some of the rumoured specifications of the HTC Edge.

1.> Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0 UI
2.> 4.7-inch screen with an HD resolution
3.> A little over 10mm thick
4.> NVIDIA AP30 Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor
5.> 1GB RAM
6.> 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and 720p video recording capabilities
7.> 32GB internal memory
8.> 21 Mbps HSDPA
9.> Bluetooth 4.0

Apart from the rumoured specifications mentioned above, the HTC Edge is said to also feature Beats Audio as well as other HTC services onboard such as HTC Listen music store, HTC Play game store, HTC Watch movie store and HTC Read which is a book store.
