Idea’s first Android phone might be Huawei Idoes X1 Gaga.

Remember we reported yesterday that Idea Cellular is planning to launch self-branded Android smartphones in India. We might have the information on telco’s first smartphone in the country and it is coming soon.

As one would expect, it is not some high-end smartphone but an entry-level Huawei Ideos X1 Gaga. CDMA telecom operator MTS already sells the same smartphone under MTag 3.1 moniker. This news is coming from a distributer, who mentioned it on Facebook. They are often first to know about upcoming launches.

Chinese manufacturer Huawei is an OEM and provides smartphones to telecom operators and other manufacturers, which are often rebranded just like Spice Mi-410 or MTag 3.1. Idea will also be branding it under a different name, which is not official right now.

To tell you about the smartphone, Ideos X1 runs on Android 2.2 (no Gingerbread here), 528MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 152MB Internal memory, 2.8 inch capacitive display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution, FM Radio, 1200 mAh battery and 3.2MP camera.

Ideos X1 weighs just 90 grams and likely to be priced aggressively, probably under INR 5000. Huawei India has already listed as coming soon on their official website, so it should not take long.
