iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 seeded to developers.

Two days after Apple addressed a problem in regards to the battery life of iOS devices, especially the iPhone 4S in the form of an update to iOS 5 by releasing iOS 5.0.1 to developers, the company has swiftly released another update. According to a report by Macrumors, Apple has issued an update to the beta version of iOS 5.0.1 by releasing a second beta of iOS 5.0.1. The report states that this beta is known as build 9A404 and like the previous beta version; it too is made to address the battery issues faced by devices running on iOS 5.

This is an over-the-air update for those developers who had already installed the first beta. Those developers who are downloading the update say that this build is 800 MB for the iPhone 4S making it seem like a whole overhaul to the operating software. For other devices such as the iPhone 4 and the iPad 2, developers say that this update is 43 MB large. Users who have already installed this build claim that they have noticed a 15 percent increase in battery life.

This update, like all their beta versions is available only to developers who have an Apple developers ID and it is not available yet to the rest of the world. Apple did state that they are working on a fix and that it would be out in a few weeks on a global scale. The battery life of the iPhone is one of the major selling points of the handsets. When Apple releases the official version of the update to the masses, hopefully they can properly rectify this issue at hand and launch the next update quickly.
