S Mobility launches MiTab tablet for Rs.12,990.

Joining the low budget tablet gang is MiTab from S Mobility. This 7-inch tablet is priced at Rs.12,990. This 3G tablet runs Android 2.2 Froyo and comes with a capacitive screen. Just like the Reliance Tab and the Beetel Magiq, you can make voice calls as well but unlike the Reliance 3G Tab, you’re free to choose any mobile operator.

The screen boasts of a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800MHz CPU. MiTab supports full HTML browsing and Adobe flash player support along with GPS and A-GPS functionality as well. S Mobility claim that the tablet will support HD video playback as well, which is something we’ll have to test and see for ourselves. It also packs in a 2MP camera for the rear and a VGA camera in the front. Other bundled apps include MS Office Viewer which is capable of reading Word, Excel and Powerpoint and PDF files. Expandable memory is also supported up to 32GB. The tablet will be available across the country in all major outlets. While the asking price seems a bit high compared to the competition, the build quality and ease of use will ultimately determine if it’s actually worth those extra bucks. Here are some of the main specs once more:
