SlingPlayer App for Android tablets now available.

Sling Media decides to extend its living room SlingBox experience to the latest fad - Android tablets. It has announced the SlingPlayer for tablets employing Android 3.0 and above. This app brings live programming and also allows changing channels, controlling satellite set-top box, DVR, TiVo, Apple TV and more.

"A Slingbox is the perfect accessory to an Android tablet. When combined with SlingPlayer, now anyone with an Android device can enjoy a beautiful, personalized TV experience anywhere in the world," said Raman Venkatachar, General Manager and head of operations at Sling Media. “With the Android market fast catching up, we feel this new state-of-the-art software will be a very significant value-addition to the user experience.”

To watch TV on an Android tablet, its owners will have to connect to Slingbox 120 or pro-HD using the Slingbox software. This will enable users to watch their favorite shows anywhere provided they have access to Internet or cellular connection. The application claims to set itself apart from the market with its Robust streaming capability and easy-to-use UI. The application for Android Phone will work in compatibility mode on tablets at no extra cost.

The SlingPlayer for Android is available for download at the Android Market for a price of Rs.1,477.
