Casio to introduce new rugged Android.

Casio isn’t a newcomer in the rugged Android series. They already had their somewhat discreet rugged phone with the G’zOne Commando that did go a little under the radar. However, according to the G-shockzone forum, Casio is planning to come back for part two of their Android smartphone built for the wild. Have a look at the pics below.

From the pictures itself, the phone looks pretty impressive – and has a similar blueprint in the design as their G-shock watches. However, it looks nothing short of sporty whilst keeping the touchscreen and candybar form factor. Here’s what the device might be loaded with:

1.> Shock resistant to 10 feet
2.> Water resistant to 1.0 bar which equals to a whopping 10m
3.> Pressure resustant to 1.0 bar
4.> Metal caseback
5.> Plastic / resin construction
6.> Camera and flash

That blows away the IP67 certification we have been salivating over in the recent past at least. IP67 doesn’t match up in specs as compared to the specs mentioned above and that may be the biggest USP of the phone, the first ever Android to boast of such massively awesome specs.

Besides this, the phone will run on Google’s Android operating system. In the past, Casio hasn’t really pushed for worldwide availability of its phones and that has been a major disappointment. The Commando wasn’t available worldwide either. Now, however, we’re praying that they approach a more global outlook for the launch of their rugged Android smartphone. Also, as reported in the G-Shockzone forum, there are chances that this phone could just be a concept of sorts and might never see the light of day, as Casio is still pondering over whether it should or should not hit production.

We’re big suckers for rugged Androids. From the Xperia Active, to the Defy Plus, we loved ‘em all. From the looks of it, this Casio phone looks like a winner to us as well. What do you guys think? Would you buy a phone that looks like this, at the right price? Let us know in the comments section below.
