Flipkart app comes to Windows Phone Marketplace.

Microsoft’s Windows Marketplace has been trying to strengthen its position to keep up with its competitors - Android and iOS. Close on the heels of the latest rumours stating that the platform was readying itself for some exclusive gaming content, it has also spruced up ecommerce with the inclusion of the new Flipkart app. It looks like a concrete strategy for the year is being planned out keeping the Windows Phone platform in mind. We’ve seen the leaked Windows Phone roadmap and its LTE phones that are also on the way.

The Flipkart app for Windows Phone will allow its users to make purchases through their mobile phone, across varying categories with a few clicks. It claims that the order placement is a mere three steps away. Flipkart has become quite popular in India, wherein online purchasing wasn’t a lucrative business. However, the norm has been changing. The e-shop is predicted to grow 10-fold in the financial year.
