Lenovo announces IdeaTab S2 10 ICS tablet, S2 smartphone.
It is raining Android tablets at CES right now, after Acer’ tease of quad core tablet and world’s thinnest tablet launch from Toshiba, we now have Lenovo announcing two new devices. Chinese manufacturer Lenovo has unveiled IdeaTab S2 100 ICS tablet and Gingerbread powered S2 smartphone. Company however did not reveal any availability date.
Both the products are already selling in China under the LePad name. Lenovo IdeaTab S2 10 features Android 4.0, 10-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual core CPU , and Lenovo Mondrian UI. It also seems to have snatched the world’ lightest 10 inch tablet crown from Toshiba Excite X10, as it weighs only 1.1 pounds instead of 1.2 pounds of Toshiba Excite X10. IdeaPad S2 will also come with a detachable keyboard dock in the market. Other specifications of S2 10 include 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, and 1.3MP front camera.
Coming to the smartphone, Lenovo S2 will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 5 inch display, Android 2.3, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. It also includes a unique Kernel-level security system to protect personal data, prevent phishing, and control network and SMS traffic.
