Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet 8GB version official, available starting today for $199.


As anticipated, Barnes & Noble has announced the 8GB version of Nook Tablet today. Targeted to compete directly with Amazon Kindle Fire(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051VVOB2), Nook Tablet 8GB has been priced at $199, the same price at which Fire is currently retailing. The 16GB version of Nook Tablet will continue to see for $249. On the other hand, Nook Color’s price has been reduced to just $169 now.

Consumers can now order 8GB Nook Tablet from Nook.com and the physical stores will get the stocks in the coming weeks. Nook Color is also available at the new price now.

The specifications for Nook Tablet 8GB are same as the original apart from the obvious storage difference and RAM. It features 7 inch color touchscreen, 1GHz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage with microSD card support and 11.5 hours of battery backup.
