Galaxy S II Plus may be announced at MWC.

The Galaxy S III is definitely not releasing at the Mobile World Congress, this month and that itself has raised many questions, as to which devices Samsung is planning to announce. Now, as reported by Pocket Now, there are chances that not the S III, but an S II Plus might just be announced at the Mobile World Congress.

As you can see from the image, the Galaxy S II Plus seems to have a 1.5GHz CPU clock speed with Android Gingerbread 2.3.4 and a pixel resolution of 800 x 480. So, that makes it better than the Galaxy S II, in terms of processor speed, as the earlier one had a 1.2GHz speed. Also, it's got a double dragon score of 59.47 fps, a flower power score of 44.19 fps, a Ninja's garden score of 30.17 fps and a total score of 54675 pts. Naturally, this doesn't really tell us much about the phone in itself, but we at least have the support of some specs. What will be interesting to see is if the phone will come with the Exynos or the OMAP chipset. We've seen variants all along the line, and there are chances that this time, we could see one as well. In the same benchmark test, the original model, i.e. the GT-i9100 or the Galaxy S II scored 37,500 pts., so on a comparative basis, the S II Plus is definitely quite a bit of an improvement.

If you’ll see their earlier products, Samsung always tends to include slight variants of their most selling as well as flagship phones, so it won’t really be a surprise if the Plus comes out in February, with the S III coming out a little later after that. The Galaxy Ace had an improved version, the Galaxy Ace Plus. The Galaxy S had an improved version with the Galaxy S Plus as well as the Galaxy S Advance. The S II also is going to be meted out with some similar treatment with the launch of the Galaxy S II Plus.
