Airtel Digital TV, the DTH service by Bharti Airtel has launched iExam, a service designed for students taking competitive exams. Students around the country have to take exams to get into colleges or jobs of choice and Airtel is tapping into the education space by providing students a service to help them prepare for their exams. Students will have access to mock and practice tests directly from their Airtel Digital TV, essentially converting the television as a source of entertainment to also a source of education. Commenting on the launch, Shashi Arora, CEO DTH/ Media, Bharti Airtel, said “Till now television was only a medium of entertainment, but with the launch of iExam, it has transformed into a virtual tutor for students, at home. Targeting the competitive examinations aspirants, iExam is the first-of-its-kind initiative in the world that will give students the real time experience of taking practice tests and compete with fellow students simultaneously. It further helps them gauge their competencies and areas of improvement, along with offering several other features."

iExam will give students their individual ranks and percentile scores directly on their television. Students will also receive personalized explanation of their scores with exam analytics that underline strenghts and weaknesses, along with timing skills and accuracy levels. It will also offer detailed feedback and recommendations based on the individual’s performance. Additionally, students also have access to information about top colleges in the country and details on upcoming competitive exams. Information on education loans is also offered.

iExam currently provides engineering test preparation for AIEEE, IIT and various state level entrance exams with content created in conjunction with Career Point, an education service provider based in Kota. In the next stages, preparatory examination content for CAT, Bank PO, PMT will also be added to the service. The application has been developed by Brizz TV, a venture backed digital media technology company incubated at IIM Bangalore.
