[Download] New Google Play Store updated APK; version 3.5.16
It appears as though there is a new version of the Google Play Store floating around the Internet. According to AndroidSPIN, version 3.5.16 of the Play Store started popping up on some users’ devices as early as yesterday. While it has yet to officially roll out to any of my devices, we did manage to get our hands on an APK file that you can easily install yourself.
What’s in the new version? We don’t have the slightest clue. Finding a changelog for Play Store updates is like looking for a needle in a haystack — you’re just not going to find it. What I am hoping for out of the latest update is what seems to be a glitch in the system that shows apps installed from places other than the Play Store (such as Amazon or other 3rd party app vendors) as having an update. This would be all fine and dandy, except you can’t actually get the update from Google Play, so you’re left with a persistent notification reminding you about awaiting updates — definitely an annoyance for someone as anal as I am about notifications.
To install the new version manually, just hit up the download link below and install like you would any other app. You will need to make sure that your settings allow the installation of apps from unknown source (Settings>Applications>Unknown Sources). Then be sure to let us know if you spot any differences from version 3.5.15.
