Fujifilm JZ100 with 8x zoom lens launched in India.

It seems nowadays, the new trend in compact cameras is brands launching budget cameras with advanced features that were formerly found only on upper midrange cameras. Building up on this trend, Fujifilm has recently introduced their latest offering in India the JZ100 and has incorporated a Fujinon 8x zoom lens that the brand claims delivers picture-perfect results across the entire zoom range, from wide-angle compositions to dramatic close-up shots.

Fujifilm claims that with the new JZ100 one can also set specific scene-based modes suiting the subject you are photographing or even experiment with its advanced features, like Motion Panorama, a new feature for shooting and playback of seamless 360 degree view by simply pressing the shutter button and slowly sweeping the camera to create a seamless ultra-panoramic photo.

Speaking at the launch of the JZ100, Mr. K Tanaka, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said, “With the launch of our latest model, we address a segment of the market which is young, tech savvy and uses social networks like Facebook, YouTube etc. to connect with their friends and families. Our newest member unites the beauty of high resolution images with the power of interacting with the social networks to help our customers experience their treasured moments like never before.”

With the built in Scene Recognition (SR) Auto mode technology, the camera automatically assesses the scenes and selects the optimal settings to capture scenes like Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait and Backlit Portrait in perfect details, covering a huge range of possible shooting scenarios giving you the experience of viewing your clicked images in a whole new way.

Fujifilm claims that with the new Face Detection feature one can capture up to nine faces in a single scene making it an ideal option while capturing group photographs. The brand goes on to state that this easy to use 14 Megapixel camera with a sensitivity of ISO3200 makes photos appear natural and true to life even with limited available light and its improved start-up time settings ensure that one never misses capturing images.

Apart from the above mentioned features, one can also use these compacts to shoot movies in 720p HD. One can also use the camera to upload pictures and videos on Facebook and YouTube quickly with the help of the camera’s MyFinePix Studio feature when connected to the Internet. Available in six colors of black, silver, pink, blue, red and purple the camera will be sold in India at a price of 8,499. For more information click here.
