Micromax launches 7-inch Funbook Android ICS tablet in India.

Those looking for an affordable, Android ICS-based tablet have an array of choices in the market, like Zync Z990, iBerry Auxus, new HCL tablets and now the latest one from Micromax. The company has launched their new 7-inch Funbook at a competitive retail price of Rs.6,499. Designed to attract the youth, we hope the device is as fun to use. Micromax has also gone ahead and partnered with Pearson, Everon, Bigflix, Zenga and Indiagames to elevate entertainment, education and gaming experience for its users. Basically, the Funbook is trying to amalgamate learning with fun for the youth and have dished out two variants - Suave Silver and Brilliant Black. The tablet is powered by 1.2GHz processor and comes with 512 MB RAM.

Micromax’s Funbook includes an e-learning app and allows users to access study materials, videos, multimedia, tests, assessment, and even references from leading content brands, like Pearson, Everonn, GK Publishers, Scholarshub, Vidyalankar, Universal Tutorials, CAPS, Zion and more. BIGflix, enables choosing from over 1000 movies in 9 languages, improved gaming offered by Indiagames, latest gossip on ‘Bolly Buzz’ and 1GB of free downloads for the first two months.

Unveiling the new device, Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Micromax said, “Fun and education are two important elements of a youth’s life; they always try to balance between what they “have to do” and what they “want to do”. The Funbook will be made available through 100,000 retail outlets across 50 cities in India and it is also available exclusively at Snapdeal.com. The device also bundles Tata Photon plus, with additional 1GB download offer for the first two months. It is available through leading outlets and Micromax’s website, too. It also bundles HDMI cable, wireless headphone, WLAN to USB port cable and a screen guard, and plans on offering a keyboard for the content creators sometime later.
