Infibeam's selling Karbonn A7 Android phone for Rs.7,490

Last month we had reported about Karbonn’s plans of launching A7 and A9 mobile phones in the market. We saw the Karbonn A9 being launched more than a week ago, and now the company has launched the Karbonn A7. Just like the A9, the A7 is also to be made available on Infibeam. The e-shop also lets one take home an 8GB free memory card, along with the device. Following the steps of the A9, the Karbonn A7 features dual-SIM capability, runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 and is powered by a 1GHz processor. The display is much smaller compared to the A9, but the company says that its 2.8-inch display is sufficient for the features that the phone offers.

Karbonn has crafted a feature phone that is priced well below 10K. It has a 5 megapixel camera and also comes with dual LED flash for photography needs. It is one of the few 3G dual-SIM phones with 3G support. So the SIM1 supports 3G, while the SIM2 comes with 2G support. The phone is Ivory white for a sophisticated and stylish look.

Here are some of its key highlights:

  1. 2.8-inch capacitive multi-touch display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution
  2. 3G, EDGE/GPRS
  3. GPS
  4. Bluetooth and USB (micro)
  5. 5MP camera with dual LED flash, and a front facing camera
  6. FM Radio
  7. 512 MB internal memory, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot

The phone also features WAP browser, support for MP3, video player and video capture, and also embedded games. The Karbonn A7 comes equipped with 1420 mAh battery, promising 4 hours of talktime and 100 hours of standby time. It claims to offer personal management features and an easy to use interface. Although we haven’t received an official press release from Karbonn, the A7 is available for purchase on Infibeam.com, which is selling it for 7,490, after offering a discount of 509.
