Intex iTab now available for Rs 8,900


The 8 inch tablet will have 1 GB RAM and Android 2.3 operating system.

Intex's iTab, which was launched in March this year for Rs 11,900, is now available for Rs 8,900.

The tablet comes with the 2.3 version of the Android operating system with Adobe Flash Player 11. The iTab is powered by a 1 GHz cortex A8 core processor which is supported by a 1 GB DDR3 RAM. It has an 8 inch capacitive five point touch screen display that allows the user to comfortably zoom in and out with all the fingers. The 360 degree G-Sensor feature makes it a complete entertainment and leisure device.

It also has a memory capacity of 8 GB which is expandable upto 32 GB. It supports external hard drive of 100 GB as well. The Intex iTab is powered by a 5000 mAh battery giving it a back up of 5-6 hours (with WiFi), claimed the company.

Connectivity options include in-built WiFi support. One can also choose to stay connected through 3G network by using a dongle. One USB port gives this tablet the versatility of a notebook. It has a front camera and a 3.5 mm audio jack out with built-in mike for video calls. To facilitate office work it comes with Word, Excel and Power Point viewer. Pre-loaded applications such as the Adobe Reader V9 office, easy battery saver and popular games like Angry Birds, Solitaire, Paper Toss, Talking Tom, etc. are among many others that are available in the tablet. Anyway, it has access to Android app store (Google Play store) so one can download as much as application as he chooses to.

The Intex iTab weighs only 475 grams making it a perfect choice for users who like to carry their entertainment wherever they go. In-built GPS software supported by Google Maps is another interesting feature.

Intex has also said that it is looking to bring more 7 and 10 inch tablets in the coming months.
