Facebook testing a Video "Call" button to be added on timeline

Social networking giant, Facebook is reportedly testing a Video "Call" button to be placed on users' timeline profiles. So those in the test run, at the moment essentially will spot a "Call" button next to the name of their friend if they're online on Facebook's desktop version. TechCrunch reports that the Call button to them will appear between the Message button and the Settings drop-down menu below the main Timeline cover photo at the top of the page.Currently, the only way to start a video chat is by clicking a videocamera icon in the text chat window. However, the service did not catch up as well as the service's other features, and now a Video "Call" button placed more prominently may just do it for the social networking giant. TechCrunch' Josh Constine writes, "Facebook actually had a Call button on the old version of the profile, but it got buried in a gear settings drop-down menu. Now the feature will be much easier to find, and when you stop by a friend’s profile you might decide to ring them for quick face-to-Facebook."

Last year Facebook announced its partnership with popular online video calling service, Skype, and brought in some fresh changes to the chat communication side of things. Recently, an all new video chat service, Airtime, too made a debut that allowed friends to video chat with each other in real time and could also chat anonymously with people outside their social network. Then there's Google+ Hangouts, too. In fact just today we reported about how a fresh new update to Google+ Hangouts allows users in the middle of a Hangout to create, control, save and even share playlists of videos with friends.
