Samsung is known for manufacturing handsets by the dozen and if the latest rumour is anything to go by then we are going to soon see a new one from them, dubbed Gogh. Yes, just Gogh. Or the SPH-L300, if you want to go by the model name. Sources have stated that this device will debut in the future and as far as the spec sheet is concerned, it’s going to be right up there with the competition. The Gogh will be powered by a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 S4 processor and it will have a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display with a 5 megapixel camera at the back, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Gogh will have a dedicated camera button and will come with NFC for your connectivity needs. A couple of leaked pictures also show that it comes pre installed with Google Wallet. However, the pictures do show a different font, icon set and skin, something we feel is more similar to their Bada skin rather than their Android skin. Either way, from what has been revealed, the phone is thicker yet smaller than HTC’s flagship device, the One X. It looks like a metal finish but chances are high that it could just be brushed plastic more than anything else. The Gogh also looks much like Google’s earlier device, the Nexus One, though, as you can see from the images, there is no capacitive search button. The Sprint icons on the screen may indicate this phone may have a US launch and could be restricted to specific regions only. However, we’ll only know the facts when the phone is actually announced.
Naturally, pricing and availability details are only available for products that are announced and since this is a leak, we’ll have to just speculate on when and how much it will cost. We sincerely hope that this device, if and when it comes to India, is priced around the 22k mark because currently at that price point, there’s nothing better than the Galaxy Nexus.
