Zync launches the Z-999 plus Android 4.0 tablet in India at Rs. 11,990


Zync Global Private Limited have recently taken the wraps off their first 3G Android 4.0 ICS tablet the Zync Z-999 plus that sports a price of Rs.11,990. Apart from coming equipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the Z-999 plus also has voice calling and 3G capabilities. Zync have also thrown in add-on practical accessories such as a screen guard, lycra sleeve and earphones, apart from the standard USB cable and a charger as part of the bundled accessories.

Zync claims that they have been innovating with various models since the time it has entered the marketplace and has released this new tablet with a 7-inch LED screen with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution along with 3G and voice calling features. The Z-999 plus is Zync’s first ever 7-inch display based tablet with Android 4.0 to feature 3G calling and data connectivity through an onboard SIM slot. The Z-999 plus boasts of a 1.5GHz single core ARM Cortex A8 processor and 512 MB RAM which they claim makes it a true powerhouse for excellent performance. The brand claims that its size and light weight of 340 gm and excellent battery life of 4200 mAh makes it an ideal device in the low cost tablet market. It only measures 8mm, which is slimmest in its category making it portable and ideal for everyday use.

Apart from the above mentioned features, the Z-999 plus comes with an inbuilt Wi-Fi for file transfer along with a 2 megapixel back camera and VGA front camera for video chat. The tablet is also equipped with a HD video playback support, HDMI support, 8GB iNand memory that is expandable to 32GB, keyboard support function and has an inbuilt 3G SIM card slot. Speaking about the display, Zync claims that the high resolution LED screen is perfect for watching movies, multi-player games and downloading and sharing data.

The Zync Z-999 plus also comes pre-loaded with apps such as browser, Movie player, IBibo, BBC news and Whatsapp messenger. The tablet will be available across 22 states as well as online retailers such as Flipkart.com, Homeshop18.com, Naaptol.com, Snapdeal.com, Indiatimes, Infibeam. For the Z-999 plus, the company is offering a one year comprehensive warranty for the tablet and also a pick up and drop facility in case there is a problem that occurs while using the device. The brand states that an attached keyboard especially designed for the Zync tablet is also available at a very affordable price.

Speaking at the launch of the Z-999 plus, Ashish Garg, Director at Zync Global Private Limited said, “We were the first players to launch a low-cost tablet on Android 4.0 a few months ago and are constantly working on innovation by adding more features to match the varied needs and lifestyles of consumers.” He goes on to state, “The response from our customer base for our earlier models Z-909 plus, Z-990 and Z-990 plus has been outstanding and we are catering to the student community and education institutions at large.”

Commenting on the sales estimates of the tablet, Zync states “The tablet market in India is estimated at 10 million units in fiscal 2012 and we have already sold over 1,00,000 units in just 6 months. The company is aiming to sell 0.5 million units by 2013.”
