Amkette launches Bluetooth keyboard for tablets

The keyboard is compatible with the iOS, Mac, Android, and Windows devices. Priced at Rs 2,695.

Amkette, a company which used to be known for its floppy disks, has launched a high quality keyboard compatible with iOS, Android and Windows tablets.

The keyboard, called the SmartBoard, is a Bluetooth enabled Qwerty keyboard that is compatible with PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones running on the iOS, Mac, Android, and Windows platforms. It is priced at Rs 2,695.

However, if you plan to use it with a low cost tablet, read your tablets' specifications carefully, as most low cost tablets do not offer Bluetooth connectivity.

The keyboard offers one click function keys for home, search (for iPad and Android), and menu. It is also fitted with multimedia function keys including play/pause, next, previous and volume up/down.

The keyboard also acts as a tablet stand and is compatible with all tablet sizes in portrait or landscape.

Rajiv K Bapna, director, Amkette, said, "SmartBoard is the only device compatible with four operating systems, and can be synced with all personal technology devices.”

Amkette SmartBoard, automatically manages its power by going into multilevel power saving modes. Besides, it has an On/off switch at the back to enable power saving.

The keyboard also comes with silicon protective lining to prevent accidental damage, and Amkette also claims that the keys are quiet and soft-touch, with a thin form factor. There is also a carrying case included for safe and easy storage and better portability.
