Portronics launches solution for charging tablets via PCs

Portronics has launched Charge It, a device that allows you to charge a mobile device such as a mobile phone or a tablet, through your computer using a USB cable. Portronics adds that the feature to charge the device exists, by default, in mobile phones, but not in tablets. Portronics' new device, as per the company's official statement, is the intermediary that allows you to connect a tablet to a computer.

Portronics adds further that by using Charge It, you can charge your tablet directly through the computer. The device enables 1.3A of current, using which the time required to charge tablets can be reduced to less than 4.5 hours. Smartphones can be charged almost at the same speed as on AC adapter. Further the company adds that most smartphones can be charged within 1-2 hours. Smartphones can be charged through a laptop even when it is in the sleep mode.

In its official statement, Portronics says that except for the Mac, no PC can charge the iPad and Galaxy tablet yet by using a USB cable. Charging a smartphone through the computer takes double the time required to charge it using a AC adapter. Also, the computer has to be switched on for the entire duration of the charging period. Portronics claims that Charge It addresses these problem areas.

The image below depicts the layout for using Charge It. Portronics has priced Charge It at Rs. 799. It is available across the country. Portronics claims further that the device has no additional maintenance cost.
