The Samsung hybrid tablet will have functionalities like the Asus Transformer.
Korean electronics brand Samsung is looking forward to reveal its Windows 8 platform based hybrid tablet PC during the upcoming IFA event which is scheduled to take place in Berlin in the next few days. Samsung has also posted an image of the upcoming hybrid device on its Facebook account, confirming its plans for the announcement.
The hybrid tablet from Samsung will come with similar functionality as Asus Transformer has. Featuring a bigger 11 inch display, the Samsung tablet will come with a full sized keyboard/docking solution for added functionality.
The new tablet will run a version of Windows 8 of which the details will be released later on. The OS will be optimised for better touch screen performance along with the inclusion of the "Windows 8 style" user interface that is similar to the one that is being used on Windows Phone presently.
Along with the tablet like functionality, the hybrid device is also expected to have the S-Pen functionality like its smaller Android cousin, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (Galaxy Note 800) and hopefully will also feature calling feature like the Note 10.1.
Although the official announcement of Windows 8 operating system is still due in the month of October, Samsung will only be showcasing the prototype.
