Pricing and basic details of the Asus Vivo Tab RT with Window RT, and Vivo Tab with Windows 8, has leaked out in an official presentation slide.
Asus has big plans to launch its new tablets with Microsoft Windows 8. The company plans to introduce two Windows 8 tablets and one hybrid tablet with notebook features. ZDNet managed to get hold of Asus' plans of introducing three Windows 8 products with the expected pricing. At Microsoft's formal unveiling of Windows 8, Asus plans to announce Vivo Tab RT running Windows RT for $599 (Rs 32,400 approx.) and Vivo Tab running Windows 8, with dock accessories, for $799 (Rs 43,200 approx.).
Asus has big plans to join the Windows 8 tablets segment with two dedicated models. The Asus Vivo Tab RT-TF600T features a 10.1 inch Super IPS+ panel with 178 degree viewing angle. The Windows 8 RT (Windows for ARM) will bring a touch-friendly user interface and will come pre-loaded with MS Office 2013 for ARM tablets. Asus has packed a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 mobile processor for better performance. This tablet will come with an optional keyboard dock costing $199 (Rs 10,800 approx.) extra, with a built-in battery to provide extended battery life to the tablet.
The Asus Vivo Tab TF810C will feature full blown Windows 8 operating system with all major desktop features and Microsoft Office trial version. This Vivo Tab will feature an 11.6 inch Super IPS+ panel with great viewing angles and an Intel Atom Z2760 mobile processor meant for tablets. This tablet too will come with an optional mobile dock costing $199 (Rs 10,800 approx.).
The slide does not mention the release schedule but we can expect these tablets to be announced before or during Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system launch. Two new Asus Vivo Tab series tablets can be expected by the end of this year.
