Datawind, manufactures of low cost Aakash tablet, has launched four new Android based low cost WiFi enabled tablets in India.
Ranging from Rs 2,999 to Rs 4,499 these tablets offer unlimited internet browsing for just Rs 100 per month across all the service providers. The four tablets that have been launched are called the UbiSlate 7Ri, UbiSlate 7R+, UbiSlate 7Ci and UbiSlate 7C+.
The first tablet UbiSlate 7Ri is a low cost entry level Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) based tablet featuring a 1 GHz Arm cortex A8 processor with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. There is a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling as well on this device. The tablet features a 7 inch display and gets data support thorough USB data dongle.
The UbiSlate 7R+, is SIM enabled Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) based tablet featuring a 1 GHz Arm cortex A8 processor with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. The tablet features a resistive touch screen and has only a 0.3 megapixel front camera for video calling.
The UbiSlate 7Ci is another entry level Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) based tablet featuring a 1 GHz Arm cortex A8 processor with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. There will be a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling as well on this device. The tablet features a 7 inch display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution with a capacitive touch with multi touch capabilities as well. For data connectivity it supports WIFi and USB data card.
The UbiSlate 7C+ is again based on Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) powered with a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor. It also supports 512MB of RAM, 4 GB internal storage memory and has a 7 inch display screen. It also support 0.3 megapixel front camera and 3G SIM connectivity for both voice and data services.
