Meta: Apply Filters to Your Photos While You Are Taking Them [iOS]

After getting a camera with enough megapixels and a good lens, all that remains is finding the right visual filters to enhance the look of your images. Normally third party applications offer such filters which can be used on your photos after they have been taken. However sometimes you feel that taking the picture from a different angle would have applied that particular effect better.

It would be really helpful if you could simply view what the picture would look like with the filter while you were taking it. In other words, you need an image filter application that provides you with real time effects. Meta offers precisely that.

Meta is a smartphone application for iOS devices. The app is sized at nearly 8 MB and is compatible with iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad devices that are running iOS version 5.0 or later. The app basically provides you with a real time image filter – your camera’s normal view is changed by the view of the filter. Before even taking the pictures you can see what your images will look like after the filter is applied.

The real time filters offered by the application are modifiable and can be edited while you take the picture. Including Woodblock Print, a Fisheye Lomo, a CRT TV, and a Light Leak Camera, you get twenty-three high quality image filters with which you can experiment and get beautiful pictures.

The filters offered by the app can be applied to photos already in your camera roll as well.

Once you have taken the images, they can be shared on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. You can choose to save high resolution images for print purposes.

Meta is available from iTunes for $1.99.

Features:

  • A user-friendly smartphone app.
  • Compatible with iOS devices.
  • Lets you apply filters to images in real time.
  • Lets you share finished images on social networks.
