The new pack offers 2 GB of 2G data beyond which internet speed is limited to 40 Kbps.
Airtel has launched (should we say re-launched?) an unlimited internet offer for its 2G prepaid mobile customers across India.
Priced at Rs 149 this pack offers 2 GB of 2G data beyond which the internet speed is limited to 40 Kbps. A similar pack was earlier priced at Rs 99, but was discontinued.
The pack is valid for 30 days and is available across the country for both new and existing subscribers. Pricing, however, will vary slightly due to local taxes etc from circle to circle (state to state).
With improvements in data technology even for 2G services, like the emergence of Edge, data speeds have improved and therefore such a plan is good for protecting unsuspecting customers from bill shock on exceeding the data limit of a plan. (In 2G you usually pay Rs 10 per MB on data used beyond the free usage that a pack offers).
