Apple drops iPhone 4 and 4S price


The price reduction is to the tune of Rs 2,000.

Apple has slashed the prices of its iPhone 4 and 4S in India by up to Rs 2,000. This price reduction seems to have been done in preparation for the launch of Apple iPhone 5.

"We have reduced the prices of iPhone 4 and 4S, which is in line with our pricing strategy internationally," an Apple spokesperson told 'The Mobile Indian'.

Asked about whether this is a clearance sale spokesperson said, "This is our product line and we will continue to sell the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 whenever that is launched. Only iPhone 3GS has been discontinued."

The Apple iPhone 4 8 GB version is now available for Rs 26,500 while the Apple iPhone 4S 16GB is selling for 38,500 while the 32 GB version is selling for Rs 49,000.

While the online retailers like Saholic are already selling the phones at reduced prices, the offline retailers are likely to start offering the new prices in 2-3 days.

This price reduction is Apple iPhone 4 price suggests that Apple plans to launch the iPhone 5 at the same price as iPhone 4S was selling at few weeks ago.

Apple spokesperson also told The Mobile Indian, "Apple has appointed Ingram Micro as a retailer for large format retailers and Redington, for distributing through regional channels, for our iPhone business."
