RIM's BlackBerry 10 gesture tutorial leaked to give a sneak peek into the gestures on its totally new mobile user interface.
RIM's chief executive officer Thorsten Heins showed the refreshed interface of BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system at the recent BlackBerry Jam 2012 Conference. The new BlackBerry 10 user interface has signature features such as flow and peek to interact seamlessly amongst applications and messages. BlackBerry Italia managed to get its hands on a number of videos demonstrating the different gestures that will work on the BlackBerry 10 OS.
The gestures used for BlackBerry 10 OS are quite similar to the ones used in the BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 OS. Check out the YouTube video about BlackBerry 10 Gesture Essentials.
The gesture that gives a sneak peek at notifications for the open apps running in the background is termed Peek. Basically, it is one of the many gestures that require a single finger. The navigational gestures require swiping from left to right and vice versa. Check this video to understand the navigational gestures.
From the first panel, a swipe to the right gives direct access to the BlackBerry Hub that comprises IM, SMS, BBM Chat, Mails and other things. Some of the basic gestures include swipe up from the bottom of the screen to unlock the homescreen and the same gesture is used to exit apps.
RIM aims to make BlackBerry 10 devices usable with a single finger and easy to remember gestures.
