HTC One X gets Jelly Bean update in India


The update brings better notification, Google Now, calendar, browser, camera functionality. It also adds support for Punjabi, Oriya, Malayalam, and Kannada.

HTC has started rolling out Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean update as well as Sense 4+ update in the Indian market for the One X smartphone.

The update is being pushed in two parts, a smaller update to prepare the phone for the update and the bigger one which is the actual update.

The first part of the update is of 1.25 MB in size, while the main Jelly Bean update is of 357 MB. You will have to manually check for the update by going to Settings} About Phone } Software to initiate the process.

HTC had started the Jelly Bean update roll-out in Asia about a month ago, and is reaching different countries gradually. The update brings in improved notifications, Google Now, improved calendar and browser, more camera functionality, and several other features.

On the other hand, HTC Sense 4+ will come with new Gallery app now acts as a hub for all photo related apps, video hub, HTC Get Started, and a new Tap and Go function, which allows you to connect the phone and your music to Beats speakers when you tap them.

The update for Indian version also adds support for Punjabi, Oriya, Malayalam, Kannada languages. HTC is also planning to bring the Jelly Bean update for HTC One S soon.
