Sony launches Vaio Duo 11 Ultrabook with tablet functionality

Sony Vaio Duo 11 offers great hybrid functionality with a slim and lightweight design.

Sony has launched a new laptop-tablet hybrid, called the Vaio Duo 11, in India. The Vaio Duo 11 is an ultrabook based on Windows 8 platform with extended tablet functionality adding more utility for its users. It allows users to work on it as any regular notebook or users can choose to slide in its display and use it as any other tablet.

The conversion between a notebook and tablet has been made possible with a unique surf-slider design that allows the display to be folded right on top of the keyboard for tablet like usage.

The Sony Vaio Duo 11 comes with an 11.6 inch LED backlit TFT LCD display featuring capacitive touch for tablet like functionality. To power this up, Sony has chosen a dual core Intel Core i5 processor running at 1.7 GHz with turbo boos functionality that can clock the processor up to 2.6 GHz if need be. Along with that the Sony Vaio Duo 11 comes with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt memory for storage.

The Sony Vaio Duo 11 features WiFi connectivity which is not a limitation as today most offices and homes are WiFi enabled plus users can always carry a pocket WiFi router for connectivity on the go.

Powered with Windows 8 (64 Bit), the Sony Vaio Duo 11 offers maximum productivity in a smaller package as it weighs 1.3 KG only that includes the battery pack as well.

For imaging, the Sony Vaio Duo 11 relies on dual full HD cameras positioned at back as well as front of the device that offer 1920 x 1080 resolution videos. Priced at Rs 89,990, the Sony Vaio Duo 11 will be available for purchase for the Sony India retailers starting month of December.
