HTC to launch two Windows tablets with calling facility

Armed with calling facility, one tablet will have a 7 inch screen while the other will have a 12 inch display.

HTC is preparing to launch two Windows RT tablets - one with 7 inch and other with 12 inch screen, - with calling facility next year, according to Bloomberg.

HTC's tablets are tentatively scheduled for release in the third quarter and would run on chips from Qualcomm (most likely to be Quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro and Play). No more details about these tablets are available as of now.

Notably, HTC has already declined rumors of it launching Windows 8 based tablets saying they are not cost effective.

Currently, there are no 7 inch tablets with Windows 8 or Windows RT platform and with this move, HTC will not just be offering an additional option but will also be able to reduce price of the tablet drastically.

Currently Windows based tablet's price starts at close to Rs 40,000 which is a big impediment in the sales growth of these tablets.
