Micromax launches 4 inch A68 Smarty for Rs 6,500

The phone also has 1600 mAH battery & 5 MP camera making it one of the most feature rich phone in its price bracket.

Micromax has launched yet another budget phone, called A68 Smarty, with attractive features for just Rs 6,500.

This new phone features a 4 inch screen with 800x480 pixel resolution, 1 GHz processor (MediaTek MT6515), 512 MB RAM and runs on Android 4.0.4 operating system.

This dual SIM phone also has a 5 megapixel camera and a fairly large 1600 mAH battery. However, like the first phone in this series, called Smarty A25, this one too is a 2G only phone and there is also no mention of GPS. The Micromax Smarty A68 does not have proximity sensor either.

The phone however does offer EDGE, WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity. For storage, there is 4 GB of internal memory out of which 2 GB is available for users and 32 GB of expandable memory slot.

Given that most people do not use 3G data services even if they have a phone with 3G support, this is a nice option as it offers very good features otherwise.

For those who want a 3G phone with the same specification, Micromax offers Ninja 4 that offers 3G but comes with a smaller 2 megapixel camera and has only 256 MB RAM. However, like Smarty A68, the Micromax Ninja 4 comes with a 4 inch screen and has the same price. There are various other combinations available from Micromax ranging from smaller processor, smaller screen, with 3G etc offering a wide choice and it seems strategy is paying off for Micromax as it recently featured as top selling brand in terms of online sales.
