Bharti Airtel has launched an innovative educational service, called mEducation. It allows Airtel users to access a host of education services including courses for language skills, entrance exam preparation and career counseling from the best of universities and professors in the country with just a few clicks on their mobile phones.
Commenting on the service, K Srinivas, president- consumer business, Bharti Airtel said, "In many parts of the country, access to formal education is still restricted. Mobile platform has the potential to bridge this restriction using technology. Airtel mEducation service uses technology-enabled platforms to address the challenging issues of education with an endeavor to enrich the lives of our customers. Airtel mEducation has been designed to replicate a classroom experience for a mass market and enable learning at a convenient, accessible and affordable platform."
Customers can now easily improve their capabilities with new skills and build self-confidence by improving their use of English language, through test preparations for entrance exams or personality development sessions. MBA aspirants can now learn the tricks to crack the CAT by the CAT guru Arun Sharma. Both working professionals and students can easily avail the services in the convenience of their homes with the flexibility to learn at their own pace at affordable prices.
Based on both voice (IVR) and SMS format, the curses offer interactive learning in the native language of the customers. Regular assessment tests also help customers to evaluate their progress. Customers can now also easily access the details of campuses and the scholarships on their fingertips.
To learn English through IVR, you have to pay Rs 30 for a duration of 30 days and for that you have to dial 55066 while for SMSes you have to pay Rs 1.5 per day. There is also mock test papers for popular entrance and exams in the mEducation.
For questionnaire based preparatory material for entrance and competitive exam mock tests, you have to pay Rs 99 for 12 mock tests while full length five mock papers for exams like UPSC, Bank PO etc costs Rs 49.
The Airtel mEducation has also packages for personality development, MBA exam tricks, Scholarship Alert, Campus Search etc.
