Samsung to introduce Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet with S-Pen

Samsung is expected to introduce the HD display bearing tab with quad-core Exynos processor.

Samsung is quietly planning to introduce yet another Galaxy Note tablet in the coming weeks. The new Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5100 will come with an 8.0-inch, HD LCD display and will house a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4 mobile processor.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is working to bundle the S Pen stylus along with it as well. There are no details about the pricing and availability of this tablet as yet.

Samsung had introduced the Galaxy Tab 7.7 last year with nice display but it did not create a lot of excitement due to the high price. Now Samsung has planned to introduce a HD display bearing tablet that will fall under affordable tablet category. Most importantly, Samsung aims to compete with Apple's new gadget - iPad mini.

The next tablet in the Galaxy Note line up is touted to be Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5100 with S Pen and has been codenamed as Kona. This tablet will feature 8-inch Super Clear LCD display with 1280x800 pixel resolution natively. The Mobile Indian already reported about the Galaxy Note GT-N5100 model listing on GLBenchmark website.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 will house a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4 Quad 4412 mobile processor paired with 2 GB RAM. Samsung will offer Galaxy Note 8.0 in two models - WiFi Only (GT-N5110) and WiFi+3G (GT-N5100). This tablet will measure 7.95 mm and weigh about 330 grams - almost as much as the iPad Mini.

As per the report, Samsung has placed a 5 megapixel camera at the back for and 1.3 megapixel camera in the front of the tablet. The Galaxy Note 8.0 would come in 16 GB and 32 GB on-board storage option models and will feature a micro SD card slot which would be capable of holding up to 64 GB micro SD card. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and GPS with A-GPS support.
