Samsung has started rolling out a fix for its Exynos branded mobile processors.
Last year, developers had found a potentially exploitable loophole in Samsung Exynos family of processors and even claimed that Samsung Exynos 4 based devices were under the threat from potential kernel exploit that could be executed by simple app. Samsung has also acknowledged the flaw at that time.
As of now, the patch has been issued to operator locked devices such as the Samsung Galaxy SII by Sprint and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by T mobile, as reported by Android Central. More devices are expected to be added to the list soon enough.
Devices that can be potentially harmed by the exploit include Galaxy SII, Galaxy SIII, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, and some Samsung tablets including the Galaxy Note 10.1.
