ZTE has started sending out Mobile World Congress press invites and the company reveals that it will be launching two new smartphones at this mobile event. These smartphones are Grand Memo and Grand Mozilla (a Firefox OS powered smartphone).
The company showcased the Grand Memo at an event in Hong Kong earlier today. ZTE Grand Memo features a 5.7-inch 720p display, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 13MP rear camera and Android 4.1.2.
More details are expected to be revealed at the Mobile World Congress.
The Grand Memo will join ZTE Grand S, a high-end smartphone, which was announced at CES, as the Chinese manufacturer looks to move into high and mid-range segment.
“We would like to raise the percentage of mid- to high-range smartphones. That’s the direction we’re heading,” Lv Qianhao, head of ZTE’s handset strategy, told Reuters at the Grand Memo event in Hong Kong.
“ZTE expects to ship more than 50 million smartphones in 2013, exceeding its earlier forecast, and sees smartphones making up 70 percent of overall consumer device sales this year,” Lv added.
