Micromax has started selling its new A89 Ninja Android smartphone online. Currently available via Infibeam.com, the phone is expected to go on sale at other retail stores in the coming days. A89 Ninja has been priced at INR 6,299.
Micromax A89 features a 4-inch WVGA display, Android 4.0, and 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor. The smartphone also comes with HSPA connectivity, dual-SIM support, 3MP rear camera, and 1450 mAh battery. You also get over 2GB of internal storage on A89 Ninja along with a microSD card slot to expand it further by upto 32GB.
The smartphone will be competing with Lava’s IRIS N400 and XOLO A500 smartphones at this price-point, however given the specs, XOLO A500 seems like a better device than Micromax’s A89 Ninja.
With focus on quantity, Micromax is clearly not bothering about quality as it plans to launch over 30 smartphones this year. The company has no track record of providing software updates; the shelf life of its phones is no more than 2 months. While the strategy might be working fine in short run, it will turn out to be a failure in long run.
