Chromebooks go global; now available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany and more

Waiting for Chromebooks, well if you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland or Netherlands, you are in luck. Google today announced that its partners HP, Samsung and Acer will now start selling the Chromebooks in six new countries.

“Many of you around the world have told us you’re eager to get your hands on a Chromebook, so we’ve been working with our partners to make this possible. Today we’re happy to say we’re one step closer to making Chromebooks truly “for everyone”–or rather, pour tout le monde, für alle, and voor iedereen,” Google noted in a blog post.

To remind you, Google Chromebooks have been until available only in US and UK.

The search giant has also revealed that it will further expanding the availability of Chromebooks in the United States, where now more than 1,000 Best Buy stores will sell the Chrome OS powered laptops.

There is still no word on availability in India or any other country apart from the eight mentioned above, but given the expanding availability, we have hope that many more countries will get these Chrome OS devices by the end of 2013.

“It’s been rewarding to work with our partners to make Chromebooks available to more people around the world, and we’re looking forward to bringing Chromebooks to even more countries in the months to come,” Google added in the blog post.
