Skype for Windows Phone gets HD video support

The Voice over IP and video calling service Skype's official app for Windows Phone has been updated with People Hub integration and HD Video support.

Skype has pushed a new update for it official app on Windows Phone platform to add the People Hub integration yet again.

The People Hub, a one-stop solution on Windows Phone that keeps the user up to date with their social networks and helps them stay in touch with their contacts, support was crippled temporarily for stable performance. The new Skype for Windows Phone app update brings HD video support for better quality video chat also.

Skype has been working hard to enable better native experience on the Windows Phone platform. The new update anchors back the People Hub integration and made it available only for those devices which have Portico installed.

The app update also brings support for HD quality video chat and thus the latest high end smartphones such as Nokia Lumia 920, HTC 8X and Samsung ATIV S would be able to support HD video chat. Apart from that, users can also enjoy video chat in both portrait and landscape modes.

Download the updated version of the Skype for Windows Phone from the Windows Phone store.
