It seems that Lenovo’s Intel Clover Trail+ powered K900 smartphone is landing in India earlier than expected. According to a report, Lenovo will launch K900 for the Indian market on May 10, making India the second market after China to get this phone. Another Asian country Philippines also scheduled to get Lenovo K900, but in June.
What is more interesting – Lenovo is planning to keep the pricing under INR 25,000. Such a pricing will kill the market for Samsung Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Note and even Note II.
Lenovo K900 is the first smartphone to come with Intel’s Clover Trail+ platform and is powered by a 2GHz Atom Z2580 dual-core processor. The phone sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with Gorilla Glass 2 on top. The K900 also comes with 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, and 16GB of internal storage- all this in just 6.9mm thick stainless steel alloy plus polycarbonate body.
It is also being reported that Lenovo is planning a huge marketing push for K900 and the company will also advertise the phone in Indian Premier League. Lenovo is not really a known smartphone brand in the country. Although, it sells around nine Android phones in the country, the company still needs more brand visibility for smartphones. The company however has a top notch dealer network, which should work in its favour.
