XOLO to release Android 4.1 OTA update for select phones

XOLO has revealed that it will soon be releasing Jelly Bean software update for select Android phones in its line-up. The update will be rolled-out over-the-air (OTA), which is a welcome change, as most of the home-grown manufacturers tend to provide software updates from their service centres.

There is no word on which of the XOLO smartphones will be getting the Android 4.1 update but the company’s recently launched XOLO X1000 seems to be a contender. We also expect to see Jelly Bean update for XOLO X500, another Intel powered smartphone from the company.

“We will be releasing the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update in next few days for some of our smartphones and it will be available over the air. We don’t want our smartphone users to waste their time and energy in first locating the nearest center and then getting their smartphone upgrade when technology can do it remotely,” a XOLO spokesperson told The Mobile Indian.

To remind you, XOLO was the first Indian company to launch an Intel-powered smartphone and currently retails three smartphones with Intel-chips on board.
