Google will continue Nexus program: Pichai

Are you wondering about the status of Nexus program in the wake of Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One nexus edition launches? Well, it will continue as usual, revealed Android boss Sundar Pichai at the D11 conference today.

According to Sundar, the idea with Nexus is to push on hardware as well, so that will continue. As, Google had no say in the hardware for Galaxy S4 or HTC One, and it is just releasing its software for these devices, it makes sense for the company to continue Nexus program.

He also added that partnerships like HTC One or S4 nexus editions will also continue and the company will keep on providing stock Android for select devices in the future.

This is certainly good news for stock Android lovers, as they will now have considerably more choices than ever for devices. We are yet to see a new Nexus device this year but that might change on June 10 or in the coming weeks when Google introduces the next Nexus tablet.
