HTC announces Samsung Quattro rival - the Desire 600

The latest HTC phone has a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and 4.5 inch display.

HTC has announced a low cost quad core phone, called Desire 600. The phone will run on 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad core processor, which is being used on Karbonn Titanium S5 and Samsung Galaxy Quattro.

HTC Desire 600 is a dual SIM phone with 4.5 inch super LCD 2 display, latest Sense 5 user interface with HTC BlinkFeed and HTC BoomSound in place just like the flagship HTC One has. The phone will of course run on latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean when launch in early June.

BlinkFeed brings Windows Phone type tiled interface to Android and offers customisable stream of live information from more than 1,400 media sources. BlinkFeed draws on more than 10,000 articles per day from some of the world's leading media companies including AOL family of media properties, ESPN, MTV, The Financial Times and Reuters.

In terms of camera the phone will offer 8 megapixel rear and 1.6 megapixel front camera. The phone comes with several camera related features including auto 30 second showreel with sound.

HTC has put built-in amplifiers and has integrated Beats Audio technology in the phone for superior audio. Though not announced, the phone is expected to be priced in Rs 20-21,000 when it becomes available in early June.
