iPhone 5S could have many colour options, may launch before iPad 5

New rumours are popping up that hint that the next iPhone will be available in different colour options. Japanese website Macotakara, claims to have pictures of the iPhone 5S with different-coloured back panels. The much-awaited low-cost iPhone is also said to get these colour options. The website also says that the phone will have a dual-LED flash.

As with all other rumours, it is best to take this one with a pinch of salt. The coloured backpanels in the picture seem to have a very glossy style, which would be uncharacteristic of Apple considering the matte finish that the iPhone 5 had. The dual LED flash however wouldn’t be that much of a stretch, but as with all rumours and speculations, we’ll simply have to wait and see what the Cupertino-based company does.

Other rumours floating around the Internet state that after the iPhone 5 is released, Apple will introduce a new version of the iPad, and one of the new features in the next-gen tablet will be a rear microphone. Reports state that the next iPad will have a 0.2 mm glass substrate and GF2 touchscreen technology. It is also rumoured to be 33 percent lighter than the fourth-generation iPad. It will use just one LED light bar for backlighting instead of the standard two, and design-wise, it will look like the iPad mini.

Apple’s next smartphone – the iPhone 5S – is rumoured to hit store shelves in September this year and it is likely that the iPad 5 will be launched in October.
