The new tablets come with HD display, custom Android and dual-core processor.
Amazon had announced two new tablets - the 7 inch Kindle Fire HD and 8.9 inch Kindle Fire HD last year. And now they have revealed two new Kindle Fire HD tablets which will soon be making their way to 170 different countries starting 13 June giving customers access to millions of apps, games, audio books and magazines and more than 300,000 books that are exclusive to the Kindle store.
The new Kindle Fire HD 7-inch tablet is the refreshed model version of last year's Kindle Fire tablet. The new 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet features full HD 1920 x1080 pixel resolution display. The 7-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet features an In-Plane Switching HD LCD touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixel resolution.
The Kindle fire HD 8.9 tablets house a dual-core TI OMAP 4470 mobile processor along with 1 GB RAM, while the Kindle fire HD 7 houses a 1.2 GHz dual core TI OMAP 4460 mobile processor and 1 GB RAM. Both the tablets run on modified version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Better quality audio is promised with the dual-stereo speakers powered by Dolby Digital Plus audio technology.
For faster downloads, the Kindle Fire HD features dual-band and dual-antenna comprising WiFi chip that supports multiple-input multiple-output technology for 40 per cent speed boost.
The Kindle Fire HD comes in 16 GB and 32 GB on-board storage options and will have a front facing camera capable of supporting front-facing Skype video calls in HD resolution.
Amazon's new 7-inch Kindle Fire HD is available for pre-order from today for only $199 (10,000 approximately) for 16 GB, $249 (Rs 12,500 approximately) for 32 GB and will start shipping on May 13
The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD tablet is also available for pre-order for $269 (Rs 15,000) for 16 GB while the 32 GB version can be ordered for $299 (Rs 18,000 approximately).
